Hello and welcome to April, a month bursting with inspiration and excitement for the fabulous folks of the LGBTQ community! This month is all about the queer characters we adore on our screens, and trust me, there’s plenty to feast your eyes on. First up, let’s spill some tea: last month, I had no idea there was a lesbian character on Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat, but honey, there is, and it’s a total gem. (Nothing will ever top the original Jury Duty, but these new episodes are giving us life in a fresh way!)
Now, onto some not-so-lesbian but still exciting news: Hulu’s adaptation of The Handmaid’s Tale sequel, The Testaments, drops on April 8, and I can’t wait to see how they handle this beloved story. Plus, Apple TV is bringing us Margot’s Got Money Trouble on April 15, which follows a young mother who turns to OnlyFans to support her baby. While I didn’t spot any explicit queer representation, I was hooked and kept watching because it was just that good!

Mark your calendars for April 9 because Dan Levy’s Big Mistakes is hitting Netflix, and while it might not be girl gay, it’s definitely serving up some serious guy gay vibes. And if you’re a fan of drama, the premiere of The Valley: Season 3 on Bravo/Peacock is a must-see. Jasmine Goode and Melissa Marie are tying the knot in this season of Vanderpump Rules spin-off, and you know we’re all about that wedding content!
Next up, we have Long Time Listener (2026) premiering on AMC All BLK on April 2. This noir-esque thriller features Genesis (Megan Holder), a bisexual true crime podcast host who finds herself in a dangerous game with a scary “long time listener” determined to ruin her life. And guess what? Her co-host is also queer! Talk about a thrilling ride!

Don’t sleep on XO Kitty: Season 3, also premiering on April 2. Kitty Song Covey (Anna Cathcart) is back for her final year at KISS, and the trailer hints at some romantic drama with her former crush, Yuri (Gia Kim), returning. Plus, we’ll see the return of Kitty’s fumbled love interest, Praveena (Sasha Bhasin). It’s a love triangle we can’t wait to watch unfold!
And let’s not forget about Hacks: Season 5, premiering on April 9 on HBO Max. The writers have had the final scene planned since the beginning, and while I’m excited, I’m also dreading the end of this brilliant show. New cast members Cherry Jones and Leslie Bibb are joining the fun, and it looks like they might be playing a lesbian couple. Count me in!

On April 10, we’re getting Outcome on Apple TV+, featuring Laverne Cox in a role that might just be a trans character. This black comedy follows a massive movie star (Keanu Reeves) trying to clean up his act after a wild past. And speaking of biopics, Christy is hitting HBO Max on the same day, telling the story of America’s most famous female boxer, Christy Martin (Sydney Sweeney), who had to fight for her life against an abusive husband. This one’s going to be emotional!
April 10 is packed with more goodies, including Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, where Freddie Muniz returns as Malcolm. And guess what? Nonbinary actor Vaughan Murrae plays Kelly, Hal and Lois’ youngest child. Representation is everywhere, darling!
Finally, we have Euphoria: Season 3 on April 12, jumping five years into the future. The gang is back, and things are looking intense as they deal with faith, redemption, and the ever-present problem of evil. New cast members include Sharon Stone and Natasha Lyonne, which means we’re in for some serious drama!
So there you have it, folks! April is shaping up to be a fabulous month for LGBTQ streaming content, with new seasons and exciting queer characters to keep us entertained. Get ready to binge-watch and celebrate our community on screen!
