Couleéxit, Hunty: The Tea Is Hot
When royalty speaks, the dolls listen. RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 5 winner Shea Couleé is done keeping quiet about the Couleéxit — the sudden departure of her drag daughters formerly known as Kenzie Couleé, Bambi Banks-Couleé, and Khloe Couleé, who now strut around as Kenzie the Dragon, Bambi Banks, and Khloe Park.
And mama made it clear:
“They did not drop the name. The name dropped them.”
Shea spilled this piping hot tea during a sit-down with fellow All Stars icon Monét X Change. Monét, ever the loyal sis, set the record straight first, praising Shea as generous, kind, and literally the opposite of the “narcissist” label trolls have been tossing around online.
But Shea, in full Miss Honesty mode, explained how sometimes you can love people, create art together, and still live in completely different realities — one rhinestoned universe away from your own.
When Support Turns into Resentment
Shea says the vibes in Maison Couleé went from glitter to glitch:
“They weren’t positive. They weren’t affirming… It didn’t feel safe. It didn’t feel lovely.”
She never had a drag mother before Drag Race, so her mission was to be the support system she once needed — a fierce mentor, not a meal ticket.
But apparently, some folks thought carrying a famous last name came with a guaranteed ticket to Werk Room glory. And when that Drag Race spotlight didn’t arrive?
Cue resentment.
“I auditioned 5 times; it took me a long time,” Shea said, noting she tried to help them with their own auditions — but what she viewed as friendly critique was taken as personal attacks.
The math wasn’t mathing anymore.
So Shea, in true diva-protecting-her-peace fashion, said sashay away to the negativity.
No Reunion, No Kiki — Just Moving On
Monét asked the question on all the fans’ minds: Could the House of Couleé get a reunion special someday?
Shea’s answer:
“There’s no going back.”
Seeing cruel comments online — especially phrases like “bitch in psychosis” — cut deep. But as she reminded the world, therapy is real and healing is happening.
“I wish them well.… I have set them free to forge their own paths.”
A classy exit line, even if the overall saga wasn’t cute.
