Extremist Agenda and Policy Violations
Gays Against Groomers, a group known for promoting extreme right-wing politics, has been actively seeking to ban gender-affirming care for minors, LGBTQ+ content in schools, and events like Drag Queen Story Hour. The group has garnered infamy for its use of the anti-LGBTQ “groomer” slur and conspiracy theories, all of which appear to violate user policies on Meta’s platforms.
The report highlights that while other social media companies, such as Google and Twitter (now known as X), have banned or suspended Gays Against Groomers for policy violations, Meta stands out as one of the few platforms that have not taken similar action.
Meta’s Stance and Concerns
