As Bob Mizer’s work challenged norms with its unabashed homoeroticism, the foundation’s CEO, Den Bell, believes it’s time to immortalize these daringly cheeky films. The task is no small feat, given Mizer’s vast portfolio of around 3,000 titles. The funds will enable the digitization of 150 of these tantalizing films.
Contributors to the fundraiser will gain access to the foundation’s streaming site, plus a subscription to Physique Pictorial, Mizer’s iconic publication, and a copy of the original 1957 1,000 Model Directory. Additionally, rare and original Mizer photo prints will be up for grabs.
Established in 2010, the Bob Mizer Foundation Inc., founded by photographer Den Bell, is committed to preserving and celebrating the works of pioneering and often delightfully cheeky photographers.
