In the wake of a surge in Asian hate crimes, photographer Terry Hastings is using his art to bring attention to a long-standing issue within the LGBTQ+ community: the discriminatory attitudes towards Asian individuals. With the hashtag campaigns #AsianBeauty and #AsianAwareness, Hastings is shining a light on the beauty and resilience of the Asian American community.

Hastings, who prints his photographs on metal and has been featured in numerous prestigious art museums, shared with us the following statement: “The phrase ‘No Fats, No Fem, No Asian’ is all too common on Grindr and other dating apps, and it is time for this type of discrimination to be addressed.”

The intimate portraits, available at reasonable prices on Hastings’ gallery site, are a powerful reminder of the importance of celebrating diversity and promoting understanding.
