Pride Month: Celebrate Like Never Before

🌈✨ Get ready to strut your stuff this Pride Month! From Puerto Vallarta to WeHo, the celebrations are fierce and fabulous. Don’t miss out! 🎉💖

TL;DR

  • Pride Month 2026 is vibrant and bold.
  • Key events include Puerto Vallarta and WeHo Pride.
  • San Antonio surprises with unique celebrations.
  • Pride celebrations are happening worldwide.
  • Visibility and joy are more important than ever.

At this pivotal moment in history, there has never been a better time to showcase fervent Pride. June is officially the month for LGBTQ+ advocacy and celebration, and this year, it’s proving to be one of the boldest and brightest yet. While June is the main event, the festivities kick off well before summer, with Miami Beach Pride in April and DC Black Pride in May setting the tone for a season of queer joy.

As a Las Vegas native, I can tell you that the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) in May serves as my personal Pride season starter. This iconic festival is one of the most inclusive parties anyone can attend, and it’s right in the heart of the desert. Even as anti-LGBTQ+ legislation gains momentum around the globe, nothing can stop us from showcasing our Pride in our neighborhoods and communities. Life is undeniably too short, so let’s dive into some of the top places to celebrate this month!

Puerto Vallarta Pride

Puerto Vallarta is renowned as a top queer destination, making it the perfect place to kick off the Pride season. Typically held over Memorial Day weekend in the U.S., the Zona Romántica shuts down the streets for their annual parade and block party. Famous hotspots like Mantamar Beach Club and Mr. Flamingo are filled with fabulous folks rocking their Speedos and loving the skin they’re in. And let’s not forget the legendary Drag Derby at The Tryst Hotel, where queens tackle an obstacle course on Púlpito Street. It’s as wild as it sounds!

If Puerto Vallarta is too far, Pensacola Pride is the largest LGBTQ+ celebration in the U.S. over Memorial Day weekend. Trust me, you won’t want to miss it!

San Antonio’s Unexpected Pride

San Antonio has proven to be a surprising gem on the Pride circuit this year. Known for its iconic River Walk and The Alamo, this Texas city knows how to throw a Pride bash. The energy is electric, especially when the local NBA team, the San Antonio Spurs, is involved. The annual Pride River Parade even expedited their schedule to allow fans to watch the Spurs defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder in a thrilling Game 7. Talk about a celebration!

Throughout the city, rainbow flags fly high at establishments like Best Quality Daughter and the renowned Gay Strip. San Antonio even offers a ‘Sip Around the Rainbow’ excursion, where locals and tourists can enjoy Pride-themed cocktails at various supportive venues. Earlier this year, citizens painted the sidewalks on the Gay Strip rainbow after state officials forced the removal of rainbow crosswalks. Now that’s how you enforce Pride!

West Hollywood Pride

It’s no surprise that West Hollywood Pride is considered one of the best. Located in Los Angeles County, WeHo is home to countless queer folks who frequent bars like The Abbey and Micky’s. Every first weekend of June, the streets shut down for an epic parade and the Outloud Music Festival. This year, I attended for the second time, and I can see why it’s a favorite. With headliners like The Pussycat Dolls and Ava Max, the city comes alive.

Even after the festival, the fun continues at local houses and condos. There’s no shortage of parties, drag brunches, and concerts to keep the good vibes rolling.

As we approach the end of June, don’t worry if you missed the major Pride celebrations in New York City or São Paulo. Major events are on the horizon in Madrid, Toronto, San Diego, and Amsterdam for WorldPride. Pride Month may be winding down, but the mission for visibility and joy is stronger than ever. So, pack your bags and get ready to celebrate because the world is waiting for your fabulous self!
