Marion Millar, a well-known anti-trans campaigner and prominent figure in the gender critical movement, has recently been arrested and charged with alleged fraud offenses, as reported by The Scotsman. Millar, who has actively campaigned alongside For Women Scotland, an organization opposing self-identification for transgender individuals, was taken into custody along with Noel McIntyre in connection with these charges. Both individuals have since been released, with a court appearance scheduled for a later date, as confirmed by police authorities.
The arrest and charges stem from a series of reports in 2022, which raised concerns about potentially fraudulent activities linked to Millar and McIntyre. Subsequently, law enforcement initiated inquiries to comprehensively investigate the circumstances surrounding these allegations.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland provided information, stating, “A 49-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man have been arrested and charged with alleged fraud offenses. They have been released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date, and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
This arrest is likely to spark further discussions within the LGBTQ+ community and those advocating for transgender rights, as Millar’s activism has been a focal point of controversy in recent years due to her strong opposition to self-identification for transgender individuals. The legal proceedings in this case will be closely watched as they unfold, with potential implications for the broader discourse on gender identity and LGBTQ+ rights.
