Tinder, the popular dating app, has seen a rapid increase in LGBTQ+ users over the past two years, according to a new study by OnePoll. The study, which surveyed 4,000 actively dating 18 to 25 year olds across the US, UK, Australia and Canada, found that the number of LGBTQ+ members on the platform has more than doubled in the past two years. Additionally, 33% of those surveyed agree that their sexuality has become more fluid in recent years, while 29% said the same about their gender identity.

Despite these findings, the study also showed that bisexual users on other dating apps continue to struggle with finding queer experiences. In a report released by Hinge earlier this year, it was found that bisexual users were three times more likely to have never been on a queer date than other members of the LGBTQ+ community. Many reported feeling uncomfortable discussing their dating history, while others had not come out to their family or friends, leading to a lack of queer experiences.

The study also found that self-care remained a top priority for 18 to 25 year olds on Tinder, with 80% of users agreeing that self-love is a main concern. Similarly, 79% of participants said they wanted their prospective partners to share the same priority. The majority of users surveyed (84%) remained hopeful and optimistic when it comes to dating and relationships.

These findings have inspired Tinder to launch its first global campaign, called “It Starts With A Swipe”. The campaign celebrates the diversity of modern dating, sexuality, and the possibilities that it offers. Since its launch in 2012, Tinder has been downloaded more than 530 million times.

In conclusion, the study by OnePoll shows that the LGBTQ+ community is rapidly growing on Tinder, with many users identifying as fluid in their sexuality and gender identity. However, the findings also highlight the ongoing struggles faced by bisexual users on other dating apps. Despite this, the majority of 18 to 25 year olds using the app remain hopeful and optimistic when it comes to dating and relationships, with self-care being a top priority. The launch of “It Starts With A Swipe” by Tinder further highlights the app’s commitment to celebrating the diversity of modern dating and sexuality.
