In an exclusive interview with Out, Alyssa Edwards shared how it felt to launch Alyssa’s Secret after first appearing on Drag Race, as well as what led to the reboot of the series. Beyond her return to the small screen, Alyssa also touched on her life as a teacher, entrepreneur, and drag performer from Mesquite, Texas.

Alyssa’s Secret first began as a branding challenge on season five of Drag Race. Edwards flew to LA to film the series, not knowing what a web series was or what it would entail. After a day of filming, Alyssa Edwards had created a web series that would go on to become a huge success.
With the show’s reboot, Edwards is excited to bring the same old spectacle but with a “glow up” to fans. The show is set to feature special guests, and Edwards hopes to share the joy that drag has provided her over the years.
In the interview with Out, Alyssa Edwards also revealed that she would compete again on Drag Race if given the opportunity. While there are numerous iterations of the show, Alyssa says that she has her eye on the prize and has cleared out space on her vanity for a potential crown.
Beyond her drag career, Alyssa Edwards is also a teacher and entrepreneur who has owned Beyond Belief Dance Company for 20 years. She credits her success in Texas to the support and celebration she has received from the families there.
