Gus Kenworthy, the American Horror Story and 80 For Brady star, has opened up about his aspiration to take on a lead role in a gay romantic comedy. In an interview, Kenworthy shared his love for romantic comedies and expressed how fulfilling it would be to be the lead in a movie that matches that formula, especially with the added opportunity to play a gay character.
Currently, Kenworthy can be seen in the film 80 For Brady, a movie based on the true story of four friends who embark on a road trip to the 2017 Super Bowl LI to see Tom Brady play. Despite having a brief cameo in the movie, Kenworthy had nothing but praise for his co-stars, Sally Field, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, and Lily Tomlin, calling them “legends” and “sweet.”
Kenworthy, who took a break from his acting career to prepare for the Olympics, is now focused on reviving his momentum in the acting industry. He is taking acting classes and auditioning regularly, and with new management in place, he is hoping for more opportunities to showcase his talent. “I’m just excited. I’m hoping for more roles,” Kenworthy stated.
