In an exciting celebration of LGBTQ culture and talent, the inaugural Bay Pride event is set to dazzle Brisbane’s bayside on November 26. The event will take place as part of the Wynnum Fringe Festival, a vibrant showcase of arts and culture running from November 15 to December 3.
A Colorful Day by the Bay
Bay Pride will kick off with the first-ever Pride March along Pandannus Beach, inviting everyone to join in the vibrant and lively procession. The event offers free registration for a family-friendly Fair Day, which promises an entire day of free entertainment on the Outdoor Stage.
The highlight of the day will be the performances by stars of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under, including the fabulous Gabriella Labucci, Faux Fur, and Ivory Glaze. Their electrifying presence will undoubtedly add an extra layer of glamour and flair to Bay Pride.

Art and Pride Combined
Bay Pride will also feature the Makers Market, where attendees can find pride-inspired products, clothing, and homewares for sale. For those looking to explore ticketed events within the festival’s Wonderland Spiegeltent, there are options like the Pride Variety Show, sapphic cabaret Lesbian Love Stories, and the sexy ancient Greece comedy circus, Godz.
A Community United
Tony Tranter, the creative director of Bay Pride and a host on local radio station Bay FM 100.3, emphasizes the importance of celebrating the local LGBTQ community. “There are many glorious queer people and businesses in our community who deserve to be celebrated,” he stated proudly.
The event has garnered strong support from Wynnum Fringe festival director Tom Oliver, who believes that Bay Pride represents a significant step forward for the local community. “A fringe festival should be the most inclusive and diverse place to be, and here we are, the first Bay Pride,” Oliver enthused.
Bay Pride promises to be a day of unity, celebration, and pride, as Brisbane’s bayside comes together to embrace its LGBTQ community in a spectacular fashion.
