The highly-anticipated trailer for season 2 of the Sex and the City reboot, “And Just Like That”, has dropped and fans can’t contain their excitement. Set to Jessie Ware’s “Pearls”, the trailer promises more of what made the first season a hit, including the return of familiar faces and wild yet realistic life events.
One of the biggest storylines in the trailer revolves around Miranda and Che’s steamy romance, confirming that their queer relationship is here to stay. However, fans were divided over the lack of depth in their relationship, which showrunner Michael Patrick King promises to address in the upcoming season.
Representation was a big push in the first season, with the introduction of the show’s first non-binary character, Che Diaz, played by Sara Ramírez. Despite the positive impact of introducing a queer relationship, the show’s dedication to constantly introducing Che as “Hey, it’s Che Diaz” rubbed some fans the wrong way.
Season 2 will also see the return of familiar faces, including John Corbett’s Aidan Shaw, and regulars Anthony Marentino, Steve Brady, Seema Patel, and Lisa Todd Wexley. Pop superstar Sam Smith will also be making a cameo, adding a little bit of unholy excitement to the mix.
As always, the show will revolve around the close-knit friendship between Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte, and the trials and tribulations they face together. Fans can expect more wild yet realistic life events, and plenty of drama and laughs.
“And Just Like That” returns to HBO Max in June, though a specific release date has yet to be announced. Fans of the show are eagerly awaiting its return, and the season 2 trailer has only increased their anticipation.
