The photographer behind eight successful coffee table books, featuring male figure studies with an erotic edge, is set to launch two new books through Kickstarter. The platform offers a unique opportunity for the photographer to gauge interest in their latest project and keep publishing costs down, while offering the best price to customers and a fun way for people to watch the art project unfold.

For over a decade, the photographer has observed a dichotomy in the preferences of their audience, who tend to favor men with alpha qualities but also critique aspects of the alpha male such as arrogance and selfishness. The photographer believes that this duality, which is often at the heart of failed relationships, is mirrored in their own artistic process.

In their latest project, the photographer selects models with traditional alpha indicators and then directs them into poses that counterbalance their physical presence, seeking to bring out a softer, more vulnerable side of masculinity. Through years of photographing the same models and getting to know them on a deeper level, the photographer believes that the dichotomy of the masculine and feminine reside within many men and that it is ultimately up to the subject to project one or the other.
