Kerri Colby, a fan favorite from season 14 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” has sounded the alarm about the increasing anti-LGBTQ+ hate in America and beyond. In a series of tweets, the Dallas-born queen icon expressed her concern that the so-called “great transgender debate” will become a pivotal issue leading up to the 2024 presidential election.
“I have an uneasy feeling based on what I’ve been seeing,” Colby tweeted to her followers. “I feel that this great transgender debate is going to push many people to the right wing side of 2024, unless we really wake up and do something.” Colby took aim at both sides of the political spectrum, pointing out that while the right wing is actively using trans rights as a weapon, those on the left are failing to engage with the topic.
Colby shared a chilling detail of the Texas attorney general’s request for the data of all people who changed their gender marker in the last 24 months, without providing a reason for the request. The drag star also discussed the recent vow by former President Donald Trump to ban gender-affirming treatments for minors if he were re-elected in 2024. Trump described the treatments as “an act of child abuse.”
