Belgium has jumped on the Drag Race bandwagon with its own adaptation of the popular reality TV series. Drag Race Belgique (or Drag Race Belgium) is a French-language show broadcast through Tipik in Belgium, with international audiences tuning in via WOW Presents Plus. The show is hosted by Canadian drag queen Rita Baga, who was a runner-up on the first season of Canada’s Drag Race, and judged by entrepreneur and content creator Lufy and singer and actor Mustii.
The Belgian show is the latest in the expanding Drag Race franchise, which already boasts adaptations in Sweden, France, and the Philippines. World of Wonder, the production company behind the show, announced the Belgian adaptation with RuPaul and Tom Campbell as executive producers.
As with any Drag Race series, the focus is on the contestants. Drag Race Belgique features ten performers from across Belgium, each vying to be crowned the country’s next drag superstar.
