The City of West Hollywood’s Arts Division has once again brought holiday cheer to the city’s streets with the unveiling of new holiday banners created by artist Joey Deruy. Each year, the Arts Division commissions an artist to craft an image that captures the essence of the holidays, uniquely tailored to West Hollywood’s style. These captivating images are then brought to life on street banners that adorn the city’s major streets.
Selected through an open call, artist Joey Deruy has graced the city with a series of eight paintings that celebrate iconic West Hollywood buildings and landmarks. His artwork brilliantly showcases the following beloved WeHo spaces:
- Lloyd Wright House and Studio
- Pacific Design Center
- Plummer Park Community Center
- Sal Guarriello Veterans Memorial
- Schindler House/MAK Center
- Sunset Tower
- West Hollywood City Hall and Automated Garage
- West Hollywood Gateway
- West Hollywood Library
- West Hollywood Park Aquatic and Recreation Center (ARC)
These splendid banners can be found adorning street poles along Santa Monica Boulevard, Melrose Avenue, La Brea Avenue, Fairfax Avenue, and San Vicente Boulevard. In addition to Joey Deruy’s creations, the city also proudly displays banners from previous years, featuring the work of talented artists such as Shag (Josh Agle), Steven Rahbany, Mona Tanksley, and Sophie Morro.

As West Hollywood embraces the holiday season, it not only celebrates through art but also through poetry.
