Carson Kressley, the recurring judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, was noticeably absent from season 15. During a recent live appearance at a viewing party, Kressley revealed the reason behind his disappearance from the show.
According to Kressley, he was diagnosed with COVID-19 while on set and was subsequently unable to return to work on the show due to a lockdown restriction rule from the California Department of Health related to Hollywood productions. This meant that he missed the entire season, much to the disappointment of fans.
Kressley joked about not even being allowed to have a “closed-circuit camera” in his building to spy on the queens and how the season was going. However, fans of the show were outraged that Kressley was not able to participate in the entirety of the season.
Thankfully, the show added Ts Madison as a recurring judge, which was an absolute treat to the fans as well. Despite the disappointment of Kressley’s absence, the show continued to thrive with new judges and fierce competition from the queens.
As the pandemic continues to impact the entertainment industry, it is clear that even the most well-known and established shows like RuPaul’s Drag Race are not immune to its effects. However, with new faces and fresh talent, the show continues to entertain and inspire audiences around the world.
