‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ star Carmen Carrera recently shared that she is open to returning to the show but is unsure of how she would want to approach it. Since appearing on season three in 2011, Carmen has not competed in any ‘All Stars’ or other ‘Drag Race’ spinoffs.
An All-Trans All Stars Season?
During the ‘Very Delta’ podcast, Carmen expressed enthusiasm for a potential all-trans All Stars season. She also mentioned considering competing as a brand new contestant, given that she has evolved as a person since her initial appearance on the show. Despite having a seemingly good relationship with the production team, Carmen remains uncertain about how past controversies would affect her return.
Pride Remains Essential for LGBTQ+ Community
In a recent interview at Miami Beach Pride, Carmen stressed the importance of Pride events for the LGBTQ+ community. As anti-LGBTQ+ legislation continues to arise in Florida, Pride events serve as crucial safe spaces for people to come together and remind themselves of their strength and resilience.
Self-Love and Acceptance
Carmen also offered advice to young trans individuals, urging them to focus on self-love and acceptance rather than trying to change others’ minds. By growing and developing their sense of self, they can show others why they are wrong in not accepting them.
