With 16 queens, RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 15 had the most contestants in the show’s history. Fans were delighted with the stunning amount of charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent displayed by the queens in the Werk Room to the runway. However, the switch to MTV resulted in fans being upset with the show’s airtime being cut short.
The episodes were reduced from 90 minutes down to 60 to make room for MTV’s ‘Real Friends of WeHo.’ But MTV got it together and announced that 90-minute episodes were coming back. However, that doesn’t change what fans have already missed from the show.
Fans took to Reddit to express their disappointment in the lack of RuMails, which is when RuPaul announces details of the current week’s maxi-challenge alongside the iconic, “She done already done had herses” quote. Contestant Malaysia Babydoll Foxx confirmed that they did have RuMails on s15.
Fans wondered if the queens still received prizes for unaired mini challenges, and some even confessed that they hadn’t realized what was missing until it was pointed out. While we’ve seen a few mini-challenges throughout the season, there’s no saying whether any upcoming episodes will feature any RuMails or additional mini-challenges when the show returns to its normal run on Friday, March 10.
Overall, RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 15 has been a hit with fans, but the cut airtime left many disappointed. Let’s hope the show returns to its full glory in the upcoming episodes.
